Calm

I'm sure it's obvious to you all by this point that I write on here sporadically at best. Sorry about that! : ) Anyway, I've been thinking the past day or so about the calm before a storm. This was mostly brought on by my (you're going to laugh at me for this) heartfelt concern for the birds. I was thinking about the promised blizzard and hoping that the geese who are kind enough to keep me company outside my office window some days would be able to fly away in time. Then, as it does far to often, my mind began to wander hopelessly and I found myself considering life before weather channels and convenient apps. I suppose, like the geese, people back then were attuned enough to the "feeling in the air" to know the blizzard would hit soon. This makes me want to watch or read Little House on the Prairie....Just so you know, I'm perfectly happy depending on technology to predict the weather.

Stay warm!

You are sweet to worry about the birds!

I thought about what it must have been like without all of the warnings too. This weather is not typical for Oklahoma. We have a foot of snow now. It didn't help that I watched Far and Away the day before the blizzard hit. (Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise... movie that ends with the Oklahoma land race) What WOULD people do without the warnings? It sounds very cold to me. ... bbbrrrrr.

Enjoy modern technology during this storm! :)
